BioPykrete: Ice developed that is as durable as concrete and 10 times stronger

Scientists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have developed a material called BioPykrete, reinforced with cellulose nanocrystals and a specific protein. This type of ice reduces brittleness by absorbing 70 times more energy before breaking and holds potential as a construction material in cold regions.
