Google DeepMind Researcher Says LLMs Cannot Generate New Ways of Thinking.

According to the researcher, large language models can successfully recombine existing knowledge and ideas; however, they cannot produce entirely new ways of thinking. This is argued to limit the creative discovery capacity of artificial intelligence.
