Ghana cuts malaria deaths by 98% since 2011

Ghana Health Service figures put malaria deaths at about 3,300 in 2011 and 52 in 2025, a 98% fall, credited to vaccines, bed nets and effective treatment. The head of infectious diseases at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital says she has seen no malaria death in two years. Cases remain high, at 4.3 million confirmed in 2024.
