MIT’s new lidar chip could give self-driving cars a wider view

MIT researchers have developed a silicon-photonic lidar chip that significantly reduces cross-talk thanks to different antenna geometries; this innovation makes it possible to produce smaller, more durable and lower-noise lidar sensors for autonomous vehicles, drones and industrial applications by providing a wider field of view without the need for moving parts.
